Privacy Policy

What we collect when you book a class, buy a voucher or send us a message — and what we never do with it. Plain English, because policies should be readable.

In short

We collect the details needed to run your booking, never sell data, and delete enquiry details after 12 months if you never become a customer.

1. What we collect

Only what a booking actually needs:

  • Contact details (name, email, phone) from enquiry forms, booking requests and the newsletter signup.
  • Booking details — which class, which date, group size, and anything you tell us about access or dietary needs for class-day catering.
  • Payment confirmations — we see that you paid and the last four digits. Card numbers never touch our systems; the payment provider handles those.
  • Website analytics — anonymised visit counts via cookies (see our cookie policy for the breakdown).

2. Why we need it

Three reasons, that's the list: to run your booking and reply to you; to send the newsletter you asked for (one tap unsubscribes); and to meet boring-but-real obligations like tax records for paid bookings.

3. Storage & security

Enquiry and booking data lives in our email and booking system, both passworded and two-factored. Paper consent forms are shredded after the term ends. If you enquire but never book, we clear your details after 12 months — no point hoarding them.

4. Who sees it

Our four-person team, the booking and email platforms that run the list, and the payment provider for paid bookings. That's it. We don't sell, rent or trade personal data — the whole idea makes us itchy.

5. Your rights

Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email flowercraftworkshop@gmail.com with 'privacy request' in the subject and Mere will sort it within 20 working days — usually much faster. Visiting from the EU? The same rights apply to you under GDPR; the legal page covers that too.

The short version

Book a class and we know your name and how to reach you. Read the blog and we know someone visited. Nothing else happens, nobody else gets your details, and unsubscribing is one click not a scavenger hunt.
