The class in detail
The big-build class
Wreaths look simple until you try to make one sit flat against a door. The first half of this class is the wreath itself — mossed base, wired stems, the layering order that makes it read lush instead of lumpy.
The second half is where it gets interesting: Theo opens up the mechanics we use for real installs — chicken-wire cages, water sources that don't drip on guests, how arches stay up in a breeze off the Waitematā. You'll leave knowing which jobs are DIY-able and which genuinely need a rigger.
Christmas season note: November–December sessions are all festive wreaths — pines, cones, dried citrus. They fill fast.
- Runs: One Saturday a month, ramping to weekly November–December
- Guarantee: Free reschedule up to 72 hours before class — see refunds
- Physical work: some wire-bending and ladder watching — tell us if you have hand/wrist issues and we'll adapt.

Step by step
Four hours, two halves
Base prep — 30 min
Mossing and wiring your base ring. The unsexy foundation that decides whether the wreath sits flat.
Greenery skeleton — 40 min
First layer establishes shape and coverage. Full circle or asymmetric — your call, we show both.
Feature layer — 50 min
Focal stems, cones, dried accents, the bits people actually look at. Wired properly so nothing drops on your doorstep.
Hang test — 10 min
Every wreath gets hung and tugged before it leaves. Physics is the honest critic.
Install mechanics demo — 60 min
Theo builds a mini arch section live: cages, water sources, attachment points, and the math of 'will this survive a doorway bump'.
Q&A + supplier talk — 10 min
Where to buy cages, foam-free water options, and which hire gear is worth it for one-off events.
